Reminder: Electric Light Parade (12/9)

The City of Long Beach and the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce present the 5th Annual Electric Light Parade on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Bundle up and bring your holiday spirit and join us at this wonderful Long Beach tradition. The parade travels through the West End of Long Beach on West Beech Street beginning at Ohio Avenue.  Antique cars, fire trucks, floats and bicycles will be wrapped in Christmas lights for this delightful holiday event. Awards will be given to the most festive. Restaurants will be offering specials and kids activities after the parade. Hot Chocolate will be served throughout the parade route. Antique Fire truck rides will also be offered. Parking available at Long Beach Catholic Regional School yard via West Broadway. The official parade start is 6:30 pm and steps off from Ohio Avenue. Long Beach Children’s Holiday Show (12/9)

The City of Long Beach Department of Parks and Recreation will hold its Annual Children’s Holiday Show on Saturday, December 9th featuring “Once Upon A Snowflake”. No two snowflakes are the same and neither are two snowmen. Join us for this heartwarming musical about a a small snow girl with big dreams.It’s sure to fill you with the holiday spirit.The show starts at 11:00am sharp in the Long Beach Middle School Auditorium. Doors open at 10:15am. Tickets on sale at the Rec Center front desk at $5.00 each. Everyone including adults must have a ticket. Strollers must park at the back of the theater.

Santa Claus will hand out presents and pose for a picture with all children in attendance after the show. The show is guaranteed to entertain the whole family. (Suggested age – 10 and under).
