“Long Beach City Council members have approved adding sunscreen dispensers on the boardwalk. City officials are adding the sunscreen dispensers using a three-year $90,000 grant from NYU Winthrop Hospital. Winthrop will pay the city $30,000 for the first two years to cover the cost of the sunscreen dispensers and $15,000 for the third year. Long Beach will also receive $5,000 each year for hosting the sunscreen dispensers. The resolution was approved during last week’s City Council meeting.”

From the Long Beach city website: “Building on the success of years past, there will be an unprecedented variety of food options on the beach and boardwalk this summer — three new food trucks have been added to the Shoregasboard Food Truck Market at Riverside Blvd and the Boardwalk — adding to the diverse array of cuisine, including healthy options, and enhancing the local flavor.
In addition to the Shoregasboard Food Truck Market there will also be the beach and boardwalk carts, and the boardwalk concession buildings, complete with restrooms. As you stroll down the boardwalk, you will notice great food & snack options at Grand, National, Edwards, Lincoln, and Pacific Blvds, as well a state-of-the-art surf center at Riverside Blvd. These concessions will be able to operate on the boardwalk throughout more of the year, helping to extend the beach season.”
