Feature: Grotta Di Fuoco (West End)

‘Best of LBNY: Date Spot’ winner in 2016, Grotta Di Fuoco is one of Long Beach’s hidden gems. The restaurant is buried deep in the West End but those that know about GDF, know that it has one of the most delicious menus in town. According to their website, “Grotta di Fuoco, which translates to Fire Cave, is an industrial, rustic space with subtle lighting, raw steel, reclaimed wood, and concrete finishes.  Step inside, descend below street level, and enter our vision of a cave.  As for the fire, our focal point is a wood burning oven right next to the bar.  You can sit close enough to feel the warmth, hear the crackle, and smell the scent of food being cooked, all while being entranced by the open flame.”

We recently dined on the grilled calamari, speck-tacular pizza, gnocchi special, and a side of brussel sprouts and corn. The food was outstanding, the drinks were tasty, and the service was top-notch. This restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but it’s warm and cozy inside makes for the perfect date-night or special occasion dinner. Grotta di Fuoco is without question, one of Long Beach’s best restaurants.
