Feature: Beginnings Bar & Restaurant (East Atlantic Beach)

A large group of us ate dinner at Beginnings Bar & Restaurant over the weekend. The eatery is in the very quiet town of East Atlantic Beach, but you’d never know that once you step inside. The place was filled with energy and there wasn’t an empty seat in the house – dining tables, high-tops, or bar stools. The inside looks like a converted library/reading room and the bookshelves are stacked with classic novels.

Having made a reservation days in advance, we were greeted by the hostess and seated as soon as we walked in. Our waitress was super attentive and immediately made us feel welcome. With separate menus for cocktails, beers/wines, appetizers/entrées, specials, and desserts, Beginnings offers a ton of optionality and does not leave much to be desired. The appetizers are served in very small portions but they are full of flavor – we opted for the Boom Boom Rock Shrimp,  Finger Lickin Ribs, and Beginnings Bambino. Our group ordered a variety of entrées, which came in much heartier portions. We had nothing but high praise for each and every dish – Gnocchi, Tuna, Grilled Cheese Club, Striped Bass, etc.

Beginnings is significantly pricier than some West End/EAB alternatives but the service and food is outstanding. Make sure to consider this restaurant for your next special occasion or date that you’re trying to impress. My group is looking forward to going back.
